I'm fascinated by the power of language to inspire and motivate people. I work with clients to deliver memorable copy and stellar publications. And I do it without drama. Even with tight deadlines, I'll keep the process calm and organized… and maybe even a little bit fun."
About Stu
As a child, Stu Slayen immersed himself in books, magazines and newspapers. He would read his favourite sports books and articles over and over, and he would devour the newspaper the day after an election to double check the vote tally and examine the editorials.
Needless to say, he wasn't exactly the coolest kid in grade four, but his childhood passion for absorbing information and celebrating language led him to Ryerson, Canada's leading journalism school, and a 20-year career in journalism, public relations, communications and publishing.
In August 2009, Stu left an outstanding staff position to launch Stu Slayen Consulting. He made the move to meet more people, hear more stories and help as many organizations as possible achieve communications success.
He's inspired by the example set and described by writer Malcolm McClean in his powerful book, Bear Hunt. McClean speaks of a basic career premise of doing "great things with great people." That's what Stu does, and he does it with integrity, focus, creativity, efficiency and a commitment to excellence.
Stu is a married parent of two children, a community volunteer and a so-so Sunday sportsman. He values his time, so he values your time, too.
